Job Details:

The department of Religious Life at Mercer University is searching for a dynamic self-starter to join our team and to use their talents to fulfill the mission and vision of Mercer University.


Responsibilities:

The Administrative Support Services Coordinator serves as the point of contact for Mercer On Mission and the Religious Life office. This position works extensively with managing communication, logistics and coordination for the Mercer On Mission program and Religious Life.

Duties include:

  • Managing Mercer On Mission communications with faculty, students, various departments across campus, and outside constituents.

  • Coordinating logistics for travel, housing, food, in-country transportation, and project initiatives for all Mercer on Mission programs. This will include itinerary management; interfacing between faculty and travel agent for over 300 Mercer On Mission participants; tracking required student credentials; procuring airline tickets, hotel reservations and transportation reservations; and requesting, managing and reconciling travel expenses for Mercer On Mission and Religious Life.

  • Various administrative duties to support Mercer On Mission and Religious Life. This includes preparing expenses reports, tracking deposits and expenditures for all accounts, typing correspondence, planning events, acting as building steward and answering calls for the department. This also includes managing various Workday tasks for the University Minister.

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree and one year of administrative support experience are required. In lieu of a degree, an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Candidates must have experience managing and maintain budgets.

Candidates must be highly organized and detail-orientated with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge in using Excel, Word, Outlook to maintain various budget/expense reports, correspondence, databases and electronic communications.

  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in planning activities and events, coordinating schedules and logistics, facilitating student and faith based initiatives.

  • The ability to manage communications and interact with a wide variety of constituency groups to foster positive public relations and quality relationships and to coordinate the roles of multiple constituencies participating in Mercer On Mission.

  • Ability to prioritize and work with minimal supervision or direction.

  • Ability to learn new software platforms such as Workday.
