Position Summary

The Associate Buyer uses expertise in performing a variety of purchasing activities including pricing, negotiating terms, volume discounts, long-term contracts, and delivery of goodsservices with suppliers. Applies government laws and regulations while conducting procurement activities and ensures alignment with management objectives. Manages day to day activities in support of the procurement of materials and services including obsolesce, engineering changes, part revisions, invoice issues, pricing discrepancies, expediting/de-expediting, cancellations, and the management of defective materials. Prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of goods, services and supplies accurately and on time to ensure all goods and services are supplied in accordance with customer and company requirements whilst at the same time optimizing levels of inventory. Resolves problems and issues arising from purchase of services, supplies and equipment. Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures. Ability to gather data, to compile information, and prepare reports. Good/Strong/Excellence verbal and written communication skills. Excellent customer service orientation. Track record of building and maintaining customer/client relationships. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook.
