Responsibilities SUMMARY - This role supports the functions of the Radiation Oncology Department at the Dignity Health Cancer Institute. The role is responsible to coordinate, supervise, and implement patient care based on competence, professional expertise, knowledge and evidence-based practice, and in accordance with the prescription and instruction from the Radiation Oncologist. The Registered Nurse is expected to practice autonomously, consistent with professional standards, Nurse Practice Act and hospital job description. This position is responsible for providing comprehensive, patient centered care to patients undergoing radiation therapy treatments, under the direction of the Manager of Radiation Oncology. RN is a critical part of the clinical team, and is responsible for patient education, ongoing symptom monitoring and management, clinical interventions, patient navigation, documentation in the Cerner and ARIA EMRs, and minor procedural prep, monitoring, and recovery. The radiation oncology RN works within the outpatient clinic supporting the clinical and procedural functions of the department. The RN rotates taking weekly on call services. This position is primarily located at the Dignity Health Cancer Center at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, located in the heart of downtown Phoenix.
