WHAT YOU WILL DO As a strategic relationship builder, you will be responsible for cultivating long term alliances, and championing new projects with existing partners or discovering new partners to expand the partner ecosystem. In this role you will be responsible for meeting with K-12 customer decision makers, developing sales opportunity pipelines, tracking and reporting market trends and sales progress, writing proposals and contracts, monitoring customer satisfaction, and closing sales. We are looking for a talented Partnership Manager who will be responsible for cultivating relationships in the Midwest region (Michigan, Illinois, Missouri, Wisconsin & Minnesota). The successful candidate will have experience in managing all K-12 direct sales activities and achieving yearly sales targets by developing a strategic regional action plan, including tactics and milestones. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Sell, consult, and promote ASCD+ISTE programs, products, and services by contacting prospective and established customers and by providing customer needs assessment and product support services. Establish short and long-term sales strategies for assigned accounts. Provide reports and maintain a database of sales opportunities. Update contact records for each account. Make recommendations and modifications to sales activities and regional sales plans. Plan and execute multiday trips to conduct meetings with decision makers to present solutions and close deals. (This includes 16 - 20 sales trips per year). Gather and provide competitive and visitation information from customers that benefits ASCD+ISTE in the development of new products, programs, and services. Offer customers solutions from the wide array of ASCD+ISTE programs, products, and services that can address their professional development needs in their regions. Present and make recommendations during leadership meetings. Manage and conduct special marketing and sales projects as assigned. WHAT MATTERS TO US EXPERIENCE Minimum 3 years’ experience in the K-12 education marketing in a sales and/or partnerships capacity required. A four-year college degree in a relevant field of study is preferred. Extensive knowledge of the pre-K–12 market. In-depth knowledge of a proven sales process and use of sales techniques. Knowledge and use of online sales management applications highly desirable. Organizational, presentation, and communication skills. A demonstrated ability to analyze needs and recommend solutions. A self-starter who works well independently and understands the value of persistence. Ability to establish relational trust, internally and externally. Demonstrated selling techniques, the ability to negotiate and close sales. Ability to use lead management software applications. Ability to create and manipulate Excel spreadsheets and develop and publish Word documents. Ability to present to large groups at conferences and demonstrate online products. Capacity to understand and effectively interpret the clients’ political culture to the extent necessary to close a sales opportunity. Ability to learn and use web-based office applications for online collaboration and document/content management.
