**Safety Manager (Immediate Relocation to College Station)**

Austin, TX **Program Description**: This position will oversee the environmental, safety and health programs, coordinate safety training programs, and conduct site visits as needed to monitor compliance with federal and state safety and health regulations.

**Supervisory Responsibilities:** None

**Essential Job Functions:**

**Responsible for Environmental, Safety & Health 90%**

Implement new & established safety/environmental programs for compliance to company and government regulations.

Conduct plant safety inspections to assure compliance with laws, regulations, and policies. Facilitates corrections/improvements as identified.

Inspect equipment and buildings to ensure they meet industry safety standards.

Develop new or enhanced safety procedures to reduce or eliminate safety risks.

Works with employees to resolve safety issues and techniques.

Conduct new employee orientation and other safety related training for employees.

Maintain records of training, qualifications, certifications, etc., as they apply to the safety program.

Participates in the investigation of accidents and injuries.

Routinely evaluate the companys environmental, safety and health performance through audits, assessments, and benchmarking. Develop and implement improvement opportunities, based on the findings.

Knowledge of first aid procedure and tools.

Maintain ISO 45001 certification.

**Travel 10%**

Flexibility to travel to locations and project sites as needed, to include frequent overnight travel

Position Specifications

Qualification Requirements:

**Education and/or Experience:**

Education: Bachelors Degree in Environmental, Health & Safety or Risk Management preferred, or equivalent combination of experience and training which results in the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Advanced: Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, including 29 CFR Part 1910 (General Industry) and 29 CFR Part 1926 (Construction)

Intermediate: Certified Safety Professional certification strongly desired (CHST, ASP, CSP)

Intermediate: Considerable knowledge of all state and federal regulations relative to environmental, safety, health and workers compensation or ability acquire quickly.

Minimum: 5 years of Environmental, Safety and Health experience

**Language Abilities:**

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, memos, and work place policies. Ability to analyze, interpret general business periodicals, procedures and governmental regulations. Ability to speak effectively with other employees and/or customers. Ability to present formal information in one-on-one and small group situations employees and visitors. Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers and/or employees.

**Mathematical Abilities:**

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

**Reasoning Abilities:**

Ability to carry out detailed written and/or verbal instructions. Ability to solve practical problems and recognize potential safety threats. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to carry out business objectives. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
