We have a Senior Project Manager position available in our Eden Prairie, MN office. This person will provide team leadership in delivering automation solutions for a wide variety of industries. This position requires demonstrated project management proficiency in delivering successful automation solutions involving PLC, HMI, and SCADA platforms.

Major Responsibilities:

This position requires the ability to effectively manage the scope, schedule, and budget of automation system projects of varying size and complexity. The candidate will lead by example and have a keen awareness of meeting customer expectations while achieving business and financial goals. The candidate must have the ability to conceptualize, detail, and implement control systems for industrial processes and machinery that meet our customers requirements. This candidate must have a diverse engineering skill set with the ability to provide technical leadership of automation solutions.

The preferred candidate will have a continuous improvement mindset and work to achieve excellence in project execution methodology.

Management Responsibilities:

Oversee daily operations and activities of a project(s) ranging in size from $250k to $2.0M +. Responsibilities include ensuring the overall profitability of the project.

Develops and executes implementation plans for the project

Develops task prioritization and scheduling for allocating resources and project timelines

Responsible for detailed knowledge of contractual terms, conditions, insurance and scopes of work

Ensures that all project team members clearly understand the scope of W-M responsibilities

Develops and maintains project schedules for W-M and customer requirements

Evaluates progress on project(s) and details changes

Responsible for all purchasing and subcontractor requirements

Responsible for development of costs and proposal of change orders to contract scope

Negotiates change orders to comply with customer and contract requirements

Develops and implements a cash flow plan for the project including A/R collections

Responsible for all project invoicing to the customer

Provides timely financial forecasts to W-M on costs, budgets, C/Os and schedule

Serves as W-Ms primary interface with the customer during the implementation phase of the project

Provide installation and startup oversight

Ensures compliance with all regulations, codes etc. as they apply to the contract and project(s)

Develops and maintains standard communication and technical documentation for project implementation (RFIs, Transmittals, Submittals, Change Requests, Project Plans, Status Updates, etc.)

Works closely with the business unit operations manager on all aspects of project management

Engineering Responsibilities:

This position may be responsible for the implementation of conceptual design and technical review of projects. This includes both internal design efforts and client reviews.

Ability to implement of control systems, components, instrumentation and control design

Provide technical leadership for PLC platforms (i.e. Rockwell Automation, Modicon, Siemens)

Provide technical leadership with SCADA applications, (i.e. Cimplicity, Wonderware, Intellution) is preferred

Provide technical leadership with Microsoft SQL or Access database is a plus

Provide technical leadership network architecture and hardware

Technical Abilities:

Develop procedural documentation for instrumentation and hardware configurations

Write operational philosophy and sequence of operation documents for control system implementation

Experience in the design of electrical schematics, including power distribution, control panels, and associated NEC references

Experience with PLC ladder logic and function block programming (i.e. Rockwell Automation, Modicon, Siemens) are required

Experience with SCADA programming, scripting, and their applications (i.e. Cimplicity, Wonderware, Intellution, Rockwell Automation) is required

Ability to configure numerous types of electronic overloads, VFDs, and Servos

Knowledge in Databases, SQL, Scripting, Historian, and Virtual Machines

Experience with AutoCAD and ability to navigate 3D models

Marketing Responsibilities:

Identify sales opportunities, confidence to suggest scope changes with justifications, ability to network across targeted industries and assist with sales quotation development.

Job Requirements:

Education

A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science is preferred. Having a PMP certification would be a plus.

Experience

Greater than 8 years with capabilities in the below areas is preferred:

Proven success in project management

Experience in one or more of the following industries: Food and Beverage, Oil & Gas, Wood or Grain

Experience in the design of electrical schematics, including power distribution, control panels, and associated NEC references desired

Experience leading a team of engineers/technicians to provide control system solutions

Experience mentoring less experienced engineers

Professional references, preferably one from each of the following: a subordinate, a peer, and a manager

Must have a valid drivers license, passport, and the ability to travel up to 30%

Physical Demands of the Position:

Seeing, color perception, hearing, listening, clear speech, dexterity in hands, driving, lifting, climbing, and ability to mount and dismount equipment, pushing, pulling, ability to travel distances for meetings and projects to meet deadlines.

Standard office environment, on-site office environment, and diverse industrial environments

Frequent personal computer usage, copy machines, phones, and other office equipment.
