JOB TITLE: AREA MANAGER EMPLOYER: M-COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT: OPERATIONS REPORTS TO: REGIONAL DIRECTOR

SUMMARY: Manages field operations and customer relations in an assigned region or market including, but not limited to, the implementation of customer projects. Initiates, manages, executes, monitors, and supports project plans that achieves the goals and objectives of the project(s) and aligns with the organization’s overall business strategy.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Understands the company’s customer satisfaction goals and ensures they are met within any program identified for implementation. Establishes and maintains professional communication with customers and employees. Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance. Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions. Assists in assembling bid packages and conducting site surveys as required. Supports and assists the creation and understanding of the project scopes, goals, and deliverables. Defines project tasks and resources needed for projects as assigned. Monitors production and quality and produces reports to customer and/or stakeholder standards. Identifies and resolves any issues and risks to project plans or objectives. Reports on project progress, offers viable solutions and opportunities as they arise Tracks the receipt and processing of project data; reviews key data after receipt for completeness and consistency; enters data into information management or data collection system; ensures accuracy of all data entered. Implements, monitors and reports on change order practices and procedures Managers resource calendars and schedules appointments, ensuring all parties are informed of and kept abreast of schedule awareness. Manages budgets for projects as assigned. Possesses and maintains thorough knowledge of OSHA requirements; implements OSHA guidelines and programs; enforces established safety guidelines and promotes a safe workplace; conducts regular safety meetings with workers. Possesses and maintains thorough knowledge of telecommunications industry standards including, but not limited to, ANSI, Telcordia, TIA, NESC, etc. Possesses and maintains thorough knowledge operational knowledge of industry test equipment including, but not limited to, Anritsu, Kaelus, JDSU, Fluke, EXFO, etc. Possesses and maintains thorough knowledge of industry OEM specifications including, but not limited to, CommScope, Corning, Ericsson, JMA, etc. Possesses and maintains thorough knowledge of RF Theory, RF Math, and Major Carrier Frequency bands, protocols, and terminology. Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises 8+ employees within the operations department(s). Directly and indirectly supervises employees and contractors that are assigned to construction projects. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job. Required: Bachelor’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent, 5+ years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required: Project management qualification (PMP) or equivalent and/or ability to obtain qualification. Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in person, on the phone, electronically, or through other means to individuals and groups.
