AltPep Corporation is a biomedical startup based along Seattle's Lake Union focused on developing early disease-modifying treatments and detection tools for amyloid diseases by targeting one of the earliest molecular triggers – toxic soluble oligomers. These toxic oligomers are associated with many diseases, including neurodegenerative diseases and type 2 diabetes.

AltPep draws its origins to Dr. Valerie Daggett's lab at the University of Washington's Bioengineering Department. The company closed a significant round of financing in mid-2023 and is currently seeking to expand at its new, state-of-the-art, headquarters located on the Eastside of Lake Union in Seattle.

About This Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager/Sr Project Manager to drive our mission forward and contribute to the seamless execution of our projects. This individual will play a critical role in helping us achieve our upcoming milestones and should demonstrate the ability to facilitate and drive productive cross-functional team discussions. We are a nimble organization, and this individual should display the ability to operate adeptly in a dynamic environment while identifying fit-for-purpose process improvements.

What You'll Do:

Project Leadership: Lead and manage complex projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work effectively with multiple departments, ensuring seamless communication and alignment of project objectives and milestones. Planning: Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Monitoring and Reporting: Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals. Risk Management: Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential issues, and devise contingency plans when needed. Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement best practices and tools for project execution and management, even in a minimal infrastructure environment.

What You Bring:

Must Haves: Proven experience in project management in a biotech or pharma company. Experience with a therapeutic from development to through phase 2 trials is a must. Familiarity with pre-clinical drug development. Demonstrated ability to navigate and excel in environments without a formal PMO or set framework, showcasing flexibility and adaptability. Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority and ensure all stakeholders are aligned and informed. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical abilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. What Will Separate You From The Rest: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus but not required. Prior experience in a startup environment, especially in situations with minimal project management organizational infrastructure. Experience working with Contract Research Organizations (CROs) is highly advantageous. Familiarity with the unique challenges and opportunities presented by biotech startups. Familiarity with Wrike is a plus. Experience with Therapeutics from development through to phase 3 trials is highly desired.

We offer competitive compensation to those joining our fight. The compensation range for a Project Manager is $85,000-$115,000 and for a Senior Project Manager $110,000 - $135,000, depending on experience.
