Position Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic Vice President of Construction Operations to lead heavy industrial construction projects near Lafayette, Indiana. This executive role is designed for a seasoned professional with over a decade of experience in managing the complete lifecycle of industrial projects, encompassing a range of disciplines such as structural, civil, mechanical, piping, sheet metal, and carpentry work. The ideal candidate will combine robust field experience with strategic business insights and a strong capability in building and maintaining relationships at all organizational levels.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Leadership in Preconstruction:

Take charge of the preconstruction division, focusing on self-perform operations in heavy industrial sectors. Ensure flawless execution from the initial stages through to project close-out.

Client Relationship Management:

Act as the primary liaison for clients, enhancing client relations and nurturing long-term partnerships with both new and existing stakeholders.

Strategic Oversight:

Apply extensive industry knowledge to gain respect and establish trust quickly among all stakeholders while fostering a culture that prioritizes safety and innovation.

Financial and Risk Management:

Develop a deep understanding of the business aspects of construction, including risk assessment in contracts, financial analysis, and leveraging technology to boost efficiency and precision in project planning.

Project Lifecycle Management:

Direct the preparation and submission of comprehensive bids, oversee contract negotiations, and manage projects from inception to completion, consistently surpassing client expectations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical) or Construction Management, supplemented by direct field experience in trades relevant to the company’s operations.

Minimum of ten years of experience in managing heavy industrial construction projects, with a demonstrated history of successful project completion.

Superior communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively engage and resolve issues across all levels of the organization.

Proficiency in construction-specific software such as Procore, Sage, and AutoCAD. A strong ability to adapt to new technologies is essential.

Established reputation and experience within the Grain Processing industry are highly regarded.

Bilingual abilities and excellent presentation skills are considered beneficial.
