About Your Role The

Head of Alternative Products

will serve as the focal point for the development of NTAM’s Alternative strategies specifically engineered for delivery through funds. This leadership role will collaborate closely with partners in Northern Trust’s existing alternatives business, 50 South Capital, to develop the strategies, structures and go-to-market plan to drive organic revenue growth for our Alternatives platform in the intermediary market. Key Responsibilities: The Head of Alternative Products will Partner with the Investments and Distribution teams to identify and/or develop specific strategies for the US Intermediary market, e.g. private equity, private credit. Develop the product structures (e.g., evergreen funds/ interval funds) in collaboration with partners from Product, Investments, Legal and Compliance, etc. Partner with stakeholder functions to ensure appropriate risk management and governance framework, metrics and monitoring is in place. Partner with the Co-Heads of US Wealth Client Group to develop a focused go-to-market strategy to grow our Alternatives market penetration in the Wealth Manager/ Intermediary market segments, including developing pre-launch marketing strategies and identifying anchor clients. Partner with Marketing to commercialize existing strategies and create impactful and differentiated content that demonstrates our Alternatives value proposition to clients in different market segments. Explore and test the potential for market expansion in international segments (e.g., UK Intermediary) and evaluate structuring options (e.g. Alternative Investment Funds) for those markets. Determine optimal path to commercialization of our Alternatives platform in international market segments. Skills/Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA and/or CFA strongly preferred. 15+ years of work experience in the investment management industry, with extensive experience in Alternatives, either in investments, or product development, or client-facing roles. Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build a strong team and foster collaboration with key stakeholders across Northern Trust Strong analytical and business management skills with the ability to develop strategic goals and translate into specific and measurable execution plans.
