Supervises and/or coordinates the functions related to front desk, business transactions, medical records management, transcription, clinical support services, compliance, safety, and customer service. Works collaboratively with clinic medical staff and with system wide administrative and medical staff as needed. Key Responsibilities:Provides leadership, direction, and coordination for general clinic operationsManages internal and outreach services of the clinicCollaborates with Director to plan and execute practice financial goalsResponsible for hiring, disciplinary action, and evaluations of employment for all non-physician staff. Responsible for operating budget for the office, including planning, controlling costs and maximizing revenue. Organizes the work processes and work units to promote efficient flowResponsible for oversight of ordering practice supplies and inventory Ensures proper invoicing and tracking of receivables and payments to vendorsDevelops and maintains working knowledge of regulations and standards specific to the clinic(s), including Medicare service and billing regulationsManages staffing to ensure appropriate coverage at all times Designs and manages scheduling systems while coordinating with office providers to maximize patient satisfaction and office efficiency. Provides information and assistance to patients to ensure effective patient relations. Investigates and proactively resolves patient complaints and concerns. Assures that physician call schedules are developed for all physicians, and coordinates call schedule with in-clinic schedule, physician availability, communicating initial and revised call schedules as appropriateWorks collaboratively with clinic division coding and billing specialists and central business office to assure timely and accurate capture of charges for services provided, prompt response to claim rejections, and compliance with all reimbursement proceduresCommunicates and supports policies and procedures appropriate for clinicConducts applicant interviews and effectively recommends appropriate personnel for clinic positionsProvides for initial orientation and ongoing training of personnel in proper work performanceAchieves and maintains targeted staffing, quality and service standardsRegularly evaluates employee performance according to policy, and provides direction for growth and motivation in the time period requiredConducts or recommends progressive discipline and discharge proceedings when necessary Partners with Human Resources Representative on performance and employee relations issuesCounsel's employees in resolving performance related problemsFunctions as a resource, teaching and collaborating with staff on a continuous basis Qualifications: Bachelor's degree strongly preferred or equivalent education and experience 3-5+ years management experience in healthcare preferredExperience working with physicians in a large physician group preferred About Steward Health CareOver a decade ago, Steward Health Care System emerged as a different kind of health care company designed to usher in a new era of wellness.
