Job Description: Compute and Storage Engineer
Responsibilities:
Strategy & Planning:
Collaborate with Storage and Compute engineers to design and implement new compute structures.
Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems, developing strategies for improvement.
Acquisition & Deployment:
Lead projects during acquisitions, performing installations/migrations for compute and storage needs.
Implement new or lifecycle compute platforms in collaboration with project managers and site personnel.
Provide support for testing new and existing server hardware, storage, and BRS solutions.
Collaborate with systems engineers/architects for upgrades to operating systems, hardware, etc.
Operational Management:
Implement new compute and storage services and manage the technical resources required for their operation.
Utilize Infrastructure as Code, employing Git and Jenkins script automation tools for managing and deploying compute and storage systems.
Provide primary support for incident resolution in the storage and compute environment.
Manage vendor support incidents to resolution.
Prioritize, schedule, and administer enhancements and defect resolution.
Record, track, and document the problem-solving process, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders.
Test fixes and perform post-resolution follow-ups to ensure adequate problem resolution.
Maintain and enhance the performance of all compute and storage-related software and applications.
Document software updates, knowledge bases, and FAQs to assist in problem resolution.
Perform preventative maintenance, including the installation of software upgrades, patches, hot fixes, etc.
Apply diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting.
Incidental Functions:
Contribute to other projects as required to enhance the group's efficiency.
Assist and participate in Change Management preparations and implementations, providing technical subject matter expertise.
Attend and occasionally lead meetings with the team.
Provide periodic 24/7 on-call support for specific functions.
Qualifications:
Formal Education & Certification: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology.
Knowledge & Experience:
5+ years of IT experience.
2+ years hands-on VMWare virtualization administration experience.
Prior experience with IT infrastructure administration, storage, and server solutions.
Experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.
Technical understanding of modern enterprise storage technologies, such as Pure, NetApp, and Dell.
Strong technical understanding of compute management technologies and troubleshooting, such as Dell OME or related server management systems.
Technical knowledge of network protocols TCP, SIP, RTP, UDP, VLAN (802.1q), and troubleshooting communication issues using them.
Knowledge of trends in technology related to compute and storage solutions.

Note: This position works in the office three days a week and is eligible to work remotely two days a week. This position is not eligible for sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, including conversion to H1-B visa.
