Summary: Lake County’s clinical TB Program is statutorily empowered to provide for the care and treatment of persons exposed to, or afflicted with, TB in Lake County. Current TB Clinic Services include screening, testing, education, treatment, and contact tracing for anyone living or working in Lake County. The TB Program Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day management of the program, including supervision of staff. The major functions of the position include program management, budget development, public awareness, community outreach, training, data collection and analysis, and routine services for the program. Scheduled Hours: 40 hours a week Essential Functions: Supervises the daily medical and administrative operations of the TB Clinic. Assures medically appropriate and cost-effective TB prevention and control activities. Develops, implements, and manages the clinic budget. Assists in the development of the TB Board meeting agenda and actively participates with TB Board members. Collaborates with community-based agencies, and participates on committees and workgroups, to establish standards of care and achieve Health Department and Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) goals and objectives. Recommends budgetary, financial, administrative, and medical policies, procedures, and protocols for the cost-effective operation of the clinic. Develops clinic policies, medical and surveillance protocols and procedures. Recruits and hires appropriate staff; monitors and evaluates staff performance; and provides for staff growth and development. If appropriate, provides direct service to patients and clients, as needed. Plans and develops TB prevention and control programs and provides public information and education activities that meet community needs and reduce TB Risk. Acts as a TB resource for internal and external medical and clinical staff. Implements policies set by the TB Board and Health Department Administration. Ensures that data that will assist in guiding the TB clinic’s mission is collected and analyzed. Obtains data reports from the electronic health record and/or surveillance system upon request. Understands data collection and basics of analysis to enhance and improve data visualizations. Oversees the maintenance and tracking of inventory and makes fiscally prudent purchases. Collects data for key performance indicators and able to monitor and track. If suboptimal, can develop and implement Plan-Do-Study-Act cycles and quality improvement projects. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge Skills Abilities and Education Required: A Bachelor of Science in nursing (BSN) or Master’s degree in nursing (MSN), with two years of Communicable/Infectious Disease clinical experience, to include TB prevention and control; and two years supervisory experience, is preferred.

Current Illinois licensure as a registered professional nurse is preferred.

OR a bachelors or masters in relevant healthcare/public health field with over five years of Communicable/Infectious Disease clinical experience, to include TB prevention and control; and five years supervisory experience will be considered as well.
