The Security Assistant/Dispatch position is part-time shift work. The operation is staffed twenty-four hour- seven days a week and located at the CLL. Dispatchers are expected to work as scheduled- to include holidays and weekends. There is no incentive pay for holidays or shift differential and is a non-managerial position. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Safety & Security.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate & communicate information via telephone and /or radio to law enforcement- civilians- staff- and other publics (APS and APD personnel- investigators- teachers- etc.).
Maintain official written and electronic logs & notify district key personnel of significant incidents via telephone and texting system.
Monitor alarms- cameras- & other security systems via advanced technological systems.
Process and respond efficiently to emergencies- appreciating the critical nature in which timely responses could determine life or death.
Ability to take charge of radio & provide clear and concise information to officers responding to calls for service.
Demonstrate the ability to perform in a fast paced environment- and function effectively during highly stressful conditions.
Perform a variety of customer service related duties that require multi-tasking and follow up.
Requirements
EDUCATION: * HS Diploma or GED required
WORK EXPERIENCE: * 2 to 5 years previous law enforcement- security dispatch- and/or customer service experience * Some experience working in an emergency response capacity preferred
