Apply Description

Arnold Ventures is a philanthropy whose core objective is to maximize opportunity and minimize injustice. We are dedicated to tackling some of the most pressing problems in the United States. We invest in sustainable change, building it from the ground up based on research, deep thinking, and a strong foundation of evidence. We drive public conversation, craft policy, and inspire action through education and advocacy.

Position Overview

Arnold Ventures believes that health care should be affordable and accessible for families, employers, and taxpayers. To achieve this vision, Arnold Ventures' Health Care portfolio advances evidence-based solutions that address both the high price we pay for health care and the value we get from those investments. We seek to drive lasting change that spans the health care landscape, with a focus on: Drug Prices, Commercial Sector Prices, Medicare Sustainability, Provider Payment Incentives, Complex Care, and Clinical Trials. The team works with experts from inside and outside government to reform the health care system through evidence generation, policy development, communications, technical assistance, and advocacy to support policy change.

Our Clinical Trials portfolio works to advance our belief that patients and clinicians deserve access to clear and reliable information to determine what prescription drugs, medical devices, and diagnostics are safe and effective. To achieve this objective, we seek policy change to:

1. Strengthen the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)'s approval standards for such medical products

2. Enhance transparency into all clinical trials conducted on a medical product to inform clinical decision making

3. Strengthen FDA accountability in reviewing clinical data

4. Assure that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) aligns its insurance coverage decisions to reflect available clinical evidence.

We advance these policy changes through research, policy development, technical assistance, advocacy, and education.

We are seeking a Manager with a strong public policy background to support the development of new, high impact, strategically aligned philanthropic opportunities and manage current investments. The position offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with the team on substantive, policy-oriented projects and gain experience managing high-impact philanthropic projects and developing evidence-based policy recommendations for these health care issues.
