The Senior Director will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive supply chain strategies to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of cell therapy products from manufacturing through distribution. This role requires a strong background in supply chain management, demand forecasting, inventory optimization, and cross-functional collaboration.This position could be located in Gaithersburg, MD, New York City, NY, Waltham, MA, South San Francisco, CA, or Santa Monica, CAEssential Functions and ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with organizational goals and objectives, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of cell therapy products to meet patient needs.Lead the development of demand forecasts for cell therapy products, leveraging historical data, market trends, and input from cross-functional teams to optimize inventory levels and production planning.Implement inventory management best practices to minimize excess and obsolete inventory while ensuring raw material availability to meet demand and regulatory requirements.Collaborate with Manufacturing and Operations teams to develop and execute capacity plans that optimize resource utilization, minimize lead times, and maximize throughput while maintaining product quality and compliance.Partner with Sourcing and Procurement and suppliers to ensure timely and reliable delivery of raw materials, components, and services required for cell therapy manufacturing, mitigating supply chain risks and optimizing costs.Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Finance, and Commercial Operations, to align supply chain planning activities with business objectives and priorities.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency, flexibility, and resilience, implementing best practices, process improvements, and technology solutions.Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor and evaluate supply chain performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and driving accountability across the organization.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesBuild and lead a high-performing supply chain planning team, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to foster individual growth and collective success.Support overall leadership and change management of a growing supply chain organization. Other responsibilities as needed.Required Skills/Abilities thDemonstrated success in developing and implementing supply chain strategies that optimize inventory levels, production efficiency, and customer service levels.Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.Demonstrated communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and align cross-functional teams towards common goals.Proven leadership abilities, with experience building and leading high-performing teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.Proficiency in supply chain planning software and systems, such as ERP systems, demand planning tools, and inventory optimization software.Develop advanced concepts, techniques, and standards. Develop new applications based on professional principles and theories.Works continuously under consultative direction toward long-range goals and objectives that have a significant impact on the organization.Decisions often affect the financial, employee, or public relations posture of the organization.Assignments are often self-initiated with no direct supervision.Serves as prime consultant and external spokesperson for the organization on highly significant matters relating to policies, programs, capabilities, and long- range goals and objectives.Determines organizational objectives and interprets company policies. Completed work is reviewed, from a relatively long-term perspective, for desired results.Establishes organizational policies in a major segment of the company. Interprets, executes, and recommends modifications to company-wide policies.Education and Experience:A minimum of fourteen (14) years with BS/BA, or minimum of twelve (12) years with MS/MA or MBA, or a minimum of ten (10) years with PhD.Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain planning, demand forecasting, inventory management, and production planning, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with specific experience in cell therapy highly desirable.We offer the opportunity to join a highly dynamic biotech company. The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Santa Monica, CA is $205,000 to $241,000.
