Program Manager (Remote - US based)

As our Program Manager, you are responsible for the performance of significant PacStar programs. You are responsible for acquiring follow-on business associated with your assigned programs and for supporting new business development by leading proposal efforts.

Your Challenge:

  • Define, launch, and drive mission-critical strategic and operational initiatives in Navy/USMC program(s)
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define program schedules, develop work plans, assign responsibilities, and provide regular status updates.
  • Lead the development and prioritization of business requirements.
  • Resolve a wide range of issues in imaginative and practical ways.
  • Create a method of change management, including ownership of a documentation library, communication plans, process training, etc.
  • Responsible for complex program management tasks
  • Responsible for the development of standards and processes for scheduling, administration, and accounting
  • Define, acquire, and allocate budget and other resources necessary to accomplish program goals.
  • Plan, direct, coordinate, administer, and execute both routine and complex projects and programs.
  • Creating technical and management reports, with the assistance of other departments, and submitting them to customers
  • Prior experience in managing projects/programs in relations to the Defense industry.
  • Leading multi-disciplinary teams in a organization for work performed on contracts and ensuring that the various outputs are timely, complete, and as per the terms and conditions.

  • Working closely with all departments to help achieve overall company objectives through teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Periodic travel to customer and supplier sites to support project execution and business development activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Your Expertise:
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year university, with at least 4 years of project management or program related experience
  • PMP certification is an asset.
  • Prior engineering/operations experience with current experience in project/program management
  • Strong understanding of and proven experience with project and change management principles.
  • Proven management and leadership skills
  • Strong ability to schedule and manage tasks effectively.
  • Strong ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Excellent organization, communication (written and oral) and presentation skills
  • Ability to break down complex inputs from senior leaders and experts into actionable plans/courses of action.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to lead team members from various disciplines.
  • Excellent negotiating skills are frequently called upon as are the instincts necessary to keep customers satisfied while protecting the interests of the company.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills: able to identify issues and apply innovative thinking.
  • Identify and manage program risks and opportunities and implement mitigation plans.
  • Strong knowledge of program management best practices, risk management, contract management, financials, and ITAR regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Project; SAP, Agile and Pivotal experience preferred.
  • Must be US citizen and able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance.
