Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive individual to join our team as a Community Engagement & Events Coordinator. This role will involve fostering community relationships, promoting our organization's mission, and planning and executing events to support peer recovery initiatives. Your dedication to supporting individuals' recovery, combined with your organizational skills, will drive our mission to create a nurturing and inclusive community with an equitable, inclusive, trauma-informed and healing-centered approach.

This position involves a unique hybrid work model; The role encompasses both remote responsibilities and in-person duties (Denver Metro Castle Rock & Colorado Springs, Colorado) to provide flexibility and accommodate diverse work preferences.

Community Engagement & Events Coordinator Job Summary:

The Community Engagement Coordinator develops and implements strategic initiatives, fostering relationships with stakeholders and collaborating on action plans. The coordinator collaborates with a wide range of partners to create and implement action plans that support the mission and goals of our organization

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Utilize diverse recovery knowledge to inform program development.
  • Oversee community engagement program operations with attention to detail and effectiveness.
  • Generate monthly reports for budgetary needs and outcomes.
  • Communicate program updates internally and externally.
  • Manage program budget processes efficiently.
  • Implement quality control measures and enhancements.
  • Strategize and execute program outreach efforts.
  • Coordinate program logistics for seamless operations.
  • Establish goals for program efficacy and growth.
  • Build and maintain partnerships to expand program reach.
  • Monitor engagement program outcomes and evaluate effectiveness through data collection.
  • Foster a culture of inclusivity and respect within the organization and among engagement program participants.
  • Engage in continuous learning to stay updated on best practices.
Community Engagement:
  • Develop and implement strategies to engage the community.
  • Cultivate relationships with stakeholders and organizations.
  • Identify, research, and analyze community engagement initiatives.
Event Planning and Execution:
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of events to support recovery efforts.
  • Manage all aspects of event logistics.
  • Ensure events are well-publicized and attended by leveraging various communication channels and community partnerships.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in program coordination, preferably within a peer recovery, mental health or community support services capacity.
  • Strong understanding of recovery principles, trauma-informed care, equity, inclusivity and ethical guidelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Empathy, compassion, and a commitment to promoting a stigma-free environment with a healing centered approach.
  • The ability to vocalize needs and ask for support.
  • The ability to give and receive feedback.
  • Minimum two years of experience in community engagement or related field preferred.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and multitask efficiently.
  • Knowledge of community engagement tools and techniques.
  • Able to think creatively and develop innovative solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable with change and the ability to be flexible with an evolutionary start-up organization.
  • Technological proficiency in relevant tools.
  • Completion of or willingness to complete Peer Recovery Support Training.
  • Commitment to cultural sensitivity and diversity in the workplace.
