The Campaign Against Hunger (TCAH) is a leading non-profit organization in NYC dedicated to fighting hunger and empowering communities. With a $25 million annual budget and a team of 78, we provide nutritious food access and essential resources to those in need. We're seeking a passionate and experienced leader to join our dynamic team.

Job Summary: The Senior Manager of Social Services plays a pivotal role in leading and overseeing our client services programs. You will be responsible for program development, management, staff development, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning efforts. This position requires a strong leader with a deep understanding of food justice issues and a commitment to achieving social impact.

Position Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Program Leadership & Innovation:
    • Manage and oversee all social service programs, identifying opportunities for expansion and innovation aligned with TCAH's mission and strategic plan.
    • Develop and implement program budgets, secure funding, and manage grant proposals.
    • Lead program audits and coach staff on effective program delivery and representation of TCAH.
    • Collaborate with the COO to set program goals and monitor progress towards achieving them.
  1. Community Engagement & Advocacy:


    • Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, funders, government officials, and other stakeholders to advance food justice initiatives.
    • Organize and host the annual Community Resource Fair, increasing access to resources and fostering community connections.
    • Serve as a spokesperson for TCAH at events and conferences, raising awareness about food justice issues.
  1. Team Development & Growth:
    • Foster a culture of continuous learning, motivation, and collaboration among staff.
    • Identify and develop staff skillsets, providing coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and guide staff towards achieving program and organizational goals.
  1. Strategic Planning & Leadership:
    • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to increase TCAH's visibility, impact, and advocacy efforts.
    • Build strategic partnerships across sectors to create lasting solutions for food insecurity.
    • Analyze program data and trends to inform strategic decision-making.


Personal and Professional Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Public Health, Sociology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing complex social service programs in a non-profit setting.
  • Proven leadership experience with a track record of success in program development, implementation, and management.
  • In-depth understanding of food justice issues and a commitment to social impact.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Bilingualism (Spanish, French, Russian, or Cantonese) a plus.
  • Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., CRM, data analysis tools) desired.
  • Passion for social justice, equity, and community empowerment.
