The work location is 100% virtual from a home office with occasional in-person meetings as necessary. Preference for candidate to be in the Mid-Atlantic states (NC, SC, VA) &/or to work an East coast schedule.

About the job:
As a Senior Product Owner/Manager for Master Data Management at American Red Cross, you will be part of the Enterprise Data & Analytics (EDA) team that is modernizing and transforming our data and reporting capabilities across multiple verticals, including Biomedical and Humanitarian services.

In this Senior Product Owner/Manager role, you will serve as the voice of the customer to guide an empowered Agile development team to support Master Data Management and Governance solutions. These solutions underpin the enterprise data fabric at ARC that facilitates high integrity data flow, sharing and access across a wide variety of internal business systems. You will represent business needs and priorities, prioritize and manage the product backlog, and incorporate feedback from business stakeholders to guide continuous product improvement. This Senior Product Owner role requires you to be a natural problem-solver with a strong data technology and analytical background, and an excellent communicator. We are looking for an innovative professional who can easily acquire new business acumen, has experience building Master Data Management products, and is passionate about getting it right.

Please note that the Product Owner/Manager role will be the primary owner of the "who, what and why" and product roadmap on a cross-functional Agile product team.

What you will be doing:
Act as the voice of the customer to guide all stages of software development, including user story development, sprint planning, and prioritization of the product backlog.
Understand business and end-user needs; identify and prioritize features to be delivered to meet those needs.
Collaborate with the Director of Product Management to develop the long-term roadmap, and create and execute a supporting short-term roadmap within area of responsibility
Analyze and document existing Master Data Management and Governance capabilities used by the business and work with business and technical stakeholders to develop / document user stories and technical requirements.
Lead effort, in partnership with the tech lead(s), to determine the team's sprint-to-sprint objectives and collaborate with the team to prioritize corresponding stories and tasks during sprint planning.
Prioritize and maintain the product backlog.
Participate in Agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, story refinements, and team retrospectives; ensure the team has a clear understanding of priorities and next steps.
Lead the sprint review meeting to present the output from the sprint to key stakeholders.
Analyze feedback from sprint reviews, and other data such as end user feedback and operational metrics, to identify and understand product needs.
Work with the development team to create acceptance criteria and definitions of failures and done.
Assist the team on the development of feature tests, test cases, and regression tests.
Set expectations with business stakeholders for delivery of new capabilities, features, and functionalities.
Evaluate systems releases for impact to business processes.
Work in conjunction with Agile Team Members to prioritize and coordinate software releases and to ensure that development efforts are in alignment with business requirements.
Help to coach up and provide guidance to more junior Product Owners as a senior product leader on the team.

Scope: Individual contributor that works under limited supervision. Apply subject matter knowledge. Capacity to understand specific needs or requirements to apply skills/knowledge.

What we need from you:
Education: 4-year college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience: Minimum 10 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience acting as a true Product Owner or Product Manager on an empowered Agile development team, with expertise in Master Data Management and Governance applications.
Experience with data warehouse solutions Experience with SQL and/or PowerBI is a plus.
Must have experience with Agile SDLC methodology and working within a SCRUM team.
Prior experience as a Software Engineer is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to be personable yet persistent and clearly communicate and engage with key stakeholders, leadership, and other product/engineering teams.

Skills and Competencies
Ability to understand complex business problems and identify and interpret business needs.
Advanced knowledge of Agile development methodologies scaling methods preferred.
Demonstrated facilitation and influencing skills to drive decision making among stakeholders with diverse perspectives and priorities.
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner to various stakeholders verbally and in writing.
Strong critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills.
History of thriving in environments of change and ambiguity
Knowledge of agile planning tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence) preferred.

What's in it for you:
For those candidates located in Colorado or Connecticut, the annual salary range for this position is $140K+. We do not offer an annual bonus for this role. Note that the American Red Cross sets salary ranges aligned to a specific geographic location in which the job or employee resides.
