Summary of Position

Provides support to the Director, Project Performance and the Senior Project Manager, Performance and serves as a point person for all the Project Performance Team (PPT) initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assists in all phases of a project, from intake, vetting, planning, execution, through the end of the project:

  • Regional Responsibilities:
    • The Project Manager, Performance is assigned to two JobsOhio Network Partners (JON). This is entirely an external client-facing responsibility and requires about 80% of the PMP's time. Below is a sample of some of the post-execution activities for which this role will perform:
      • Engage with client companies to address questions, needs and provide direction
      • Process Project Change Requests (PCRs) Approvals
      • Present to the Project Performance Review Team (PPRT) on non-compliant projects and/or loan issues/requests
      • Participate in onsite company visits and help to resolve company performance issues
    • Draft Amendments, Clawbacks & Terminations:
      • Responsible to draft JobsOhio grant agreement amendments, clawback letters and termination letters for the assigned JONs, coordinate with the JobsOhio Legal Team and PPT, ensure final agreement amendment is executed in a timely manner, and monitor response of clawback and termination letter deadlines
      • Partner with the Director, Project Performance, General Counsel, and Associate General Counsel on the Remedial Action process for Clawbacks, Litigation and Bankruptcy.
      • Work with Company executives when negotiating performance outcomes.
    • Review reimbursement requests that have been reviewed and submitted by the Project Coordinator, Performance (PCP) in a timely manner.
      • Coordinate with the PCP and company to ensure reimbursement documentation is in the required format and all contractual obligations have been met.
      • Submit reimbursement requests for approval in a timely fashion.
      • Ensure the reimbursement is correct and the Director, Project Performance has been informed of any nuances prior to approval.
    • Annual Reports
      • Assist the PPT by making a portion of the calls to client companies with a past due Annual Report.
      • Communicate and follow up with the company on the Annual Report to ensure completion.
      • Review information and data provided in the company's annual report and determine if follow up or remedial action is necessary.
      • Close out the Project at the MExD

Support the Director, Project Performance and PPT:

  • Create, run, and deliver accurate and timely reports (e.g. metrics, etc.) for the PPT.
  • Assist in drafting guidelines and manuals.
  • Develop instruction sheets and checklists.
  • Ensure Salesforce is utilized across the PPT and reflects current business processes.
  • Train new team members on processes, such as the PPT and PPRT agenda and meeting.

Perform special projects and other duties as assigned:

  • Project Manager, Performance must be well versed in JobsOhio program guidelines and philosophies.
  • Attend meetings including but not limited to:
    • JobsOhio and Network Project Managers training meetings
    • JobsOhio and Network weekly calls
Qualifications

Experience Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross functionally with very little oversight
  • Exercise sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong communication (both internal and client facing) and presentation skills.
  • Ability to pivot comfortably as daily priorities shift among the client, organization and/or project performance needs
  • Strong technical skills with Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Able to pick up new technologies quickly
  • Proficient mathematical and writing skills
  • Self-motivated and quick aptitude

Education Requirements

  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree in economic development, finance, business, project/portfolio management or related degree with course work in ethics or risk management.
