SUMMARY

The Material Handler performs physical and clerical duties related to the shipping, receiving, and storing of tires, related materials, and equipment in a warehouse.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Load, unload, check and tally tires to and from carriers
  • Store tires in assigned warehouse locations
  • Select, pack, mark and palletize tires for customer orders and places them in assigned staging areas
  • Check and verify the accuracy of selecting, packing, marking, and counting tires for customer orders
  • Operate forklifts, squeeze lifts, and other equipment in the execution of these duties
  • Perform required counting, tallying, and marking on related inventory control
  • Document paperwork pertaining to each warehouse function to ensure it is accurate and complete
  • Participate in all inventories taken at the warehouse
  • Perform housekeeping duties by palletizing, re-palletizing, and restacking tires to conform to standards and objectives set by management
  • Perform other misc. warehouse-related and housekeeping duties set forth by management
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a warehouse or similar position is required.
  • Forklift certification is a plus.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
