Manager, Engineering

Provides direction and project management to ensure project completion in accordance with contractual obligations. Defines project goals and devises methods to accomplish them; develops in-depth knowledge of customer objectives, contract terms, and corporate policies. Plans, organizes, manages, and controls projects with the established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approved by Worley. Supervises project personnel through subordinate leaders. Project managers will exhibit leadership skills necessary to achieve project goals.

Typically manages multiple scopes of work in small and medium size projects or a portion of a large or mega project within the organization and/or for customers, with daily operational responsibilities. Responsible for implementing and administering project and Worley policies and procedures in order to successfully achieve project objectives. Works with others on the project team to develop technical/functional solutions to strategic project objectives. Solutions are derived from available resources provided internally and/or externally, including policies and procedures. May serve as a proposal manager for small to medium projects.

Demonstrated PM experience leading small and medium projects or portions of large projects; EPCM, EPC including site assignments.

Makes independent decisions and sets priorities related to complex situations. Manages medium projects, or portions of larger projects. Responsible for the daily administration of project related policies and processes in order for the project to meet business objectives.

Work is assigned only in terms of broad objectives to be accomplished, and is reviewed for policy, soundness of approach and general effectiveness. Oversees, motivates and monitors the performance of the team, ensuring quality and timeliness of assignments and roles, and addresses any performance gaps. Implements communication tools and process to ensure all team members are informed about project status and key performance indicators. Demonstrates the ability to build support for ideas, presenting alternatives and recommendations persuasively.

Technical Expertise

Ensures Worley methodologies, processes, tools and systems are used throughout the project and compliance requirements are met/satisfied. Applies knowledge of all aspects of a project (engineering, procurement, quality control, project controls etc.) to oversee the successful execution of the project plan. Ensures design team is aware and complying with customer Basis of Design and applicable codes and regulations. Demonstrates attention to detail. Demonstrated understanding of engineering project delivery workflow and coordination. Basic exposure and understanding of procurement/subcontracting and on-site construction support.

Financial Acumen

Applies in?depth knowledge of customer contract to the oversight and management of the project. Strong understanding and application of business drivers, financial reporting standards. Tracks cost and schedule and uses analytical skill to forecast trends. Project design deliverables and design quantities are tracked and analyzed. Understands project cost buildup including gross margin. Ensures proper change control processes are understood and used by the project team. Understands contract invoice terms and company cash flow requirements, including accounts receivable, work in progress, and days sales outstanding (DSO) metrics. Understands contract KPI and incentives and penalties and active manages the threats and oprotunities.

Execution Planning & Performance

Experienced in preparing Project Execution Plan covering all aspects of the scope. Has considered previous lessons learned as inputs to planning the project execution. Manages execution, coordination, and implements regular reviews/controls to track project progress. Good understanding of Project Control Reports, indentifies problem areas and implements recovery plans. Interprets and understands key elements of the project schedule and resource plan. Incorporates Value Creation and Sustainable Solutions objectives into project plan, measures and delivers objectives.

Essential: University Degree, or equivalent, in related field or applicable discipline, or equivalent relevant experience. Typically 12 years experience, including 10 years of relevant supervisory, project management and/or technical experience, Workshare experience, E, EP Project experience.

Desirable: Professional registration in local region, Certified Project Management Professional by a global recognized project management organization (IPMA, APM, PMI, AIPM). Demonstrated PM experience leading small and medium projects or portions of large projects, EPCM, EPC including site assignments.
