Responsible for assessing the educational needs and of planning, implementing and evaluating educational programs for Department of Nursing. The clinical educator also acts as a consultant in the areas of clinical decision-making, quality improvement and professional development. These activities are implemented within the framework of the department of patient care services philosophy, goals and objectives.Supports staff professional development with activities that include planned andreal time educational offerings/support to advance clinical practice, certification,life support/emergency preparedness, TJC requirements, product rollouts,mentoring, etc.2. Responds to changes in nursing practice and develops programs to support thosechanges.3. Incorporates principles of adult learning in the planning, implementation, andevaluation of education programs.4. Design, plan, prepare and present materials for use in educational programs fornursing staff inclusive of competency based learning modules.5. Accessible to clinicians, and puts education plans in place for staff, monitorscompletion of staff competencies and education programs.6. Provides educational opportunities that benefit nurses at all stages of their careerdevelopment.7. Supports integration of evidence based, best practices, and research intopractice, contributes to nursing research and incorporates research findings intoprogram planning.8. Work collaboratively with education team, managers, interprofessional team tosupport initiatives, central and unit orientation activities and is flexible in meetingneeds of department.9. Engages and leads in council, committee and task force work that enhancespatient care, outcomes, and satisfaction. Chairs, Co-Chairs Committees.Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team in the development andimplementation of patient care policies, procedures, protocols, guidelines andstandards of care.10. Leads the onboarding, orientation, and nurse residency programs.
