Job Title: Program & Events Coordinator

Employment Status: Full time, Non-Exempt

Reports to:Program Manager, Career Pathways

Salary: $50,000 - $55,000

Summary

The Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation (BNYDC) is the not-for-profit corporation that serves as the real estate developer and property manager of the Yard on behalf of its owner, The City of New York (the City). BNYDC constantly strives to provide an environment in which businesses and careers can take root and grow.

The Program & Events Coordinator will engage Career Pathways program participants, connecting them with the Brooklyn Navy Yard ecosystem and wider network of industries, employers, and peers. Through programmatic development and events, they will help streamline the transition of Career Pathways program participants and fellows into successful careers.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of professional development and experiential learning opportunities for the BNYDC Career Pathways program participants
  • Facilitate professionaldevelopment and networking events
  • Collaborate with Marketing on creating program materials to distribute amongst networks
  • Work with the Internships Coordinator on operational processes for interns, fellows, and business partners
  • Liaise with BNY's industry partners to develop experiential and professional learningopportunities such as workshops, panels, CEO lunches, and more
  • Createengaging social media content for Internship and Fellowship Programs
  • Distribute surveys to gather data about programs. Utilize data analysis to inform strategic decision-making
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Required Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent communication skills. Must be comfortable articulating program goals and information to a range of stakeholders
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to build relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, databases, and social media
  • Experience with AirTable and/or Salesforce preferred
Qualifications

Qualifications
  • BA/BS preferred. We will consider candidates with an equivalent combination of relevant experience and training in lieu of a degree
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience in workforce, recruiting, career advisement, industry engagement, or other related field
  • Working knowledge of STEM-related industries preferred
  • Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends as needed
