RN Manager - Psych / Behavioral Health - Hospital - Paramus NJ - Military veterans preferred

A health system in New Jersey is actively seeking a licensed Registered Nurse to join their behavioral health services team as a Nurse Manager - Behavioral Health (RN).

Responsibilities:

The Nurse Manager - Behavioral Health (RN) will:

• Collaborates with Nursing Director to set and assess unit goals, acting as a link between nursing administration and medical staff
• Develops staffing plans based on utilization data, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and mix; oversees scheduling and approves overtime
• Recruits, hires, and manages staff; conducts performance evaluations and handles disciplinary actions in accordance with regulations
• Ensures safe patient care by enforcing professional standards, identifying staff training needs, and implementing improvement programs
• Communicates patient care information effectively to department staff; establishes and monitors patient care protocols
• Reviews and updates policies for regulatory compliance; implements changes and educates staff accordingly
• Manages quality assurance programs; identifies issues and implements improvement actions
• Assists in budget development and monitoring; optimizes resource allocation and cost efficiency

• Bachelors or better in Registered Nurse
• NJS Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement principles.
• Knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA, state and federal regulatory guidelines
• 5 years Psychiatric clinical nursing experience
• 2 years supervisory or charge nurse experience
• IV Therapy and BLS certifications

• Masters or better in Registered Nurse
