Job Purpose

  • Lead diagnosis and repair of vehicles which fail End of Line testing during GA
  • Coordinate with crossfunctional teams (engineering, manufacturing, operations, etc) to ensure efficient diagnosis of problem vehicles
  • Document and report failure data and root cause findings
  • Develop expertise with all Canoo vehicle systems, their core functions, and their interoperation with the aim of contributing to design and issue resolution on production and various levels of pre-production vehicles.
Responsibilities (80s of the Position)
  • 3+ years experience with automotive electronic systems, candidate must understand function of all electric vehicle systems
  • Extensive hands-on experience with vehicle wire harnesses, candidate must have the ability to diagnose complex electrical harnesses and electronic devices
  • Strong working knowledge of Automotive CAN networks, candidate must understand CAN at the physical, electrical, and software level
  • Working knowledge of automotive data collection & analysis tools (e.g. Vector CANalyzer), candidate must understand the process and information required to interface an external tool with the vehicle
Required Experience
  • Experience in a vehicle manufacturing setting (e.g. automotive, aerospace)
  • Experience with mechanical automotive repair
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts verbally and in writing
  • Working knowledge of Unified Diagnostic Services (UDS)
  • Working knowledge of LIN and Automotive ethernet communication protocols
  • Experience with issue management software (e.g. JIRA)
  • Experience with requirement database tools (e.g. Polarion, DOORS, etc)
  • Understanding of binary and other related number systems (e.g. hexadecimal, ASCII, etc)
  • Basic understanding of automotive software architecture and implementation
Travel Requirements
  • Travel to support the business as required.
Physical Requirements for Non-Physical Positions

While performing the duties of this job, employees may be required to sit for prolonged periods of time, occasionally bending or stooping, lifting up to 10 pounds, and prolonged periods of computer use.

Physical Requirements for Physical Positions

While performing the duties of this job, employees may be required to lift up to 25 or more pounds, stand, sit, bend/stoop, or operate office equipment or machinery.
