About our team and the job :

We are seeking a visionary and experienced professional to join our organization as the Head of Emerging Technologies. In this role, you will be at the forefront of driving innovation and shaping the company's future by identifying, evaluating, and implementing cutting-edge technologies. You will lead a team of skilled professionals and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful integration of emerging technologies into our digital and business strategy.

The Head of Emerging Technologies is a critical role to effectively evaluate new potential disruptive technologies, such as Generative AI, and its impacts on the company. By following an approach of rapid iterative MVPs, it will help demonstrate applicability of the technology as well as technical dependencies to getting it deployed at enterprise scale.

The individual must be entrepreneurial, have a strategic point-of-view and vision, and also demonstrate the ability to deliver within a large complex enterprise such as Sanofi. You will rely on cross functional teams to build and deliver prioritized initiatives, taking advantage of the companies’ existing Centres of Excellence.

Mai?n Responsibilities

Develop and lead the company's overall strategy for adopting and integrating emerging technologies to enhance products, services, and operations.

Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements to proactively identify potential technology opportunities that align with the company's goals.

Lead a team of experts responsible for developing emerging technologies such as GenAI, IoT, and more into impactful solutions for the business at scale.

Foster a culture of innovation by encouraging ideation, experimentation, and knowledge sharing across departments.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess the feasibility and potential impact of emerging technologies on various business areas.

Conduct in-depth market research, technology assessments, and risk analyses to guide strategic decision-making.

Cultivate relationships with external technology partners, startups, research institutions, and industry leaders to stay well-connected within the emerging technology landscape.

Collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities for partnerships or acquisitions that align with the company's technological roadmap.

Oversee the successful implementation of selected emerging technologies by working closely within Digital, R&D, Manufacturing and other relevant departments.

Ensure seamless integration, scalability, and security of new technologies into existing systems and processes.

Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of adopted technologies on business outcomes.

Regularly assess and report on the progress of technology initiatives to company leadership.

About you :

Key Qualifications and Competencies

Bachelor's or advanced degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Engineering, etc.); MBA or equivalent is a plus.

Proven experience in leading technology innovation, R&D, or digital transformation in a multinational company.

Strong understanding of a wide range of emerging technologies and their practical applications.

Practical hands-on experience with software development, specifically web applications & APIs.

Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide multidisciplinary teams.

Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Effective communication skills to convey complex technological concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Track record of successful partnerships, collaborations, or technology acquisitions.

Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.

Ability to deal with ambiguity and work in autonomy with limited guidelines.

Ability to cultivate effective relationships, and to influence and collaborate internally and externally at all organizational levels.
