A social services organization in Brooklyn is actively seeking an experienced and compassionate Nursing Supervisor (RN) to join their growing staff. Under the direction of the Senior Director of Nursing Services, the Nursing Supervisor (RN) will be responsible for ensuring the quality of medical, nursing, and other health-related services that are provided to individuals with I/DD in all day and residential programs in collaboration with their families and consistent with the philosophy of person-centered planning.
Responsibilities
The Nursing Supervisor (RN) will:
Oversee training and ensures competencies
Provide guidance and direction to day and residential Program Coordinators/Managers on strategies and techniques for effective oversight of medical services provided to the individuals in their programs
Assist in providing training and direction to residential staff regarding the management of medical emergencies/crisis
Assist in teaching AMAP classes
Undertake appropriate follow-up activities with assigned nurses, including training and professional development activities
Recommend and implement nursing care practices, standards, and procedures
Assist with the development of new as well as existing nursing treatment plans
Act as liaison between programs and outside medical providers to ensure individuals receive the best medical care available
Qualifications
Associate's Degree in Nursing
License and current registration as a RN in the State of New York
3+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse in the delivery of community-based health services to individuals with developments and intellectual disabilities
1+ year of supervisory experience
License and current registration as a RN in the State of New York
Proficiency in the use of computers, appropriate software, and Outlook email system
Knowledge of equipment typically used by persons receiving services, including wheelchairs and adaptive devices
