Responsibilities: The Admission Nurse manages, plans, and organizes all patient admissions under the supervision of the Director of Nursing. Completes assessments upon admission (potential), admission paperwork, completes order entry, department audits, assists with discharge planning, document scanning, and other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: Successful completion of an approved nursing program for Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse. Experience: Minimum of one year of long-term care experience required as a nurse. Experience working with Medicare/HMO insurance preferred. Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Demonstrates knowledge of Medicare, HMO's and Managed Care. * Ability to communicate with and use outside resources for questions related to regulations, Medicare, HMO's and other insurances. * Good written and verbal communication skills * Time management and prioritization skills. * Ability to multitask. * Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with nursing staff and other departments including Social Services, Rehab, Business Office, Staffing and Medical Records. * Displays willingness to make decisions with sound and accurate judgment and is able to explain reasoning for decisions. * Equal Opportunity Employer: Minorities, Women, Protected Veterans, Disabled.
