The Johnson & Johnson Global Legal Organization is seeking a Senior Counsel, U.S. Commercial Programs to provide legal support to various businesses within Johnson & Johnson MedTech, located in Raritan, NJ; Raynham, MA; Cincinnati, OH; or Santa Clara, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

Counsel on the development and implementation of innovative commercial strategies for Johnson & Johnson MedTech’s products, services and solutions across U.S. customer channels. Advise senior leadership and counsel all levels of the organization focusing on commercial transactions and interactions with healthcare providers, group purchasing organizations, payers and other customers. Collaborate closely with pricing strategy, contracting, account management, sales, marketing, finance and other functions. Facilitate effective engagement with customers, including guiding the commercial contracting and negotiating teams. Provide legal counsel and support related to fraud and abuse laws, including the federal Anti-Kickback Statute and associated safe harbors, OIG guidance and state laws, and other health care laws and regulations, industry standards and company policies. Develop and deliver training for clients on various health care compliance topics related to commercial programs and interactions with commercial customers. Engage in key policy and regulatory issues impacting our customer relationships and business strategies to ensure our support is innovative, agile and adapts to an evolving environment. Provide efficient and coordinated legal support, contribute to cross-functional teams and collaborate with stakeholders and colleagues in the Global Legal Organization on key matters.

Qualifications:

Education:

Admission to and current good standing with the bar of at least one state or the District of Columbia.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

Minimum of 5 years of experience as an attorney, with relevant experience advising on health care matters in the life sciences or medical technology industry, either in-house or at a law firm. Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with senior leaders to proactively shape and advance key business strategies and priorities. Strong transactional skills with experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts, related to product sales, distribution, technology and capital equipment. Comfortable navigating ambiguity and simplifying complicated issues. Strong analytical skills and ability to think strategically to develop creative, practical and compliant solutions. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. Highly collaborative in a fast-paced, team-based, matrix environment.

Preferred:

Experience advising on health care compliance obligations, including the U.S. health care fraud and abuse laws is a plus. Experience with transactions related to information technology, cybersecurity, robotics, artificial intelligence, software, cloud, or privacy is a plus.

Other:

This position will be located in Raritan, NJ, Raynham, MA, Cincinnati, OH or Santa Clara, CA and may require some limited domestic travel.

The base pay range for this position is $142,000-$244,950. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
