What You'll Do in This Role to Add Value

Landmark Builders seeks a full-time, highly experienced Safety Manager for its commercial New Construction Division in the Charlotte, NC office.

Core Requirements

• Maintain safety in compliance with Landmark's Safety Program
• Lead investigations for all site injuries/ accidents and ensure that all documentation and reporting are accurate and produced in a timely manner by appropriate parties.
• Maintain certifications for teaching/ training and attend training/education.
• Assist subcontractors as needed to ensure compliance with all safety requirements.
• Manage proper job site filing, including subcontractor requirements, sign-off sheets for all employees, competent person sign-off sheets, all applicable Landmark forms A through Z, concrete testing data for steel erection, write-ups for subcontractor safety violations, etc.
• Develop/ maintain communication between the field and subcontractors' office management.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Be familiar with Landmarks' "Crisis Management Procedures" and participate as necessary.
• Assist in establishing an annual safety budget.
• Maintain annual logs and associated safety records to meet OSHA requirements.
• Maintain annual logs associated with the Dept. of Labor Safety (including records about safety awards)
• Conduct random weekly site safety inspections / produce subsequent audits.
• Participate in preconstruction meetings to conduct safety orientation for subcontractors.
• Conduct safety orientation for new hires.
• Participate in bi-weekly project manager meetings as needed to address safety issues.
• Maintain and provide safety records/incidence rates.
• Provide assistance in security and loss control measures.
• Be present at all OSHA site inspections.
• File required documentation resulting from an inspection or accident.
• Interface with insurance loss control representatives
• Maintain current safety program-related forms/documentation to superintendents.
• Ensure that all sites have the proper placement of OSHA & Labor/Wage posters, Haz Mat/Right-To-Know information, current safety memos, etc.
• Purchase and provide safety equipment/materials.
• Provide confined space gas monitoring equipment as required.
• Maintain calibration for gas monitoring equipment.
• Provide weekly safety toolbox talk forms.
• Conduct monthly fire extinguisher inspections for project sites, equipment, shop, and office.
• Assist Landmark's designated claims manager with investigating and documenting workers' compensation-related injuries.
• Report minor injuries "for information only" to Landmark's designated claims manager.
• Administer a substance abuse program and employee-related testing, including all random testing and "for-cause" testing.
• Conduct/ provide for safety and CPR/ First Aid training.
• OSHA 300 log management
• Manage/ coordinate training for equipment operators and keep operator cards current.

• Monitor / ensure that subcontractor competent person requirements are maintained
