**Safety Manager**

Indianapolis, Indiana / Indianapolis Administration / Full-Time **Safety Manager**

At Bone Dry Roofing, we take safety seriously and require all employees to use standard industry practices to keep everyone safe on the job and in our vehicles. To that end, we are seeking an experienced Safety Manager who can evaluate the safety protocols followed on various job sites, analyze and report driver safety metrics while operating a fleet vehicle and work with our Human Development team to organize safety training, and report issues to management. The ideal candidate will have experience in the construction industry, both residential and commercial, fleet management and understands the specific safety issues inherent to construction sites and fleet operations. The job includes significant field work so a flexible schedule during our busy season is a must. **Duties & Responsibilities:**

+ Preview projects and project sites before work begins to determine safety related risks.

+ Visit active project sites to assess ongoing work conditions to ensure compliance.

+ Work with project management teams and field workers to develop and implement solutions to safety related issues on project sites

+ Monitor and assess daily vehicle safety infractions through Samsara and determine next steps to correct behavior

+ Plan, implement, manage, and maintain comprehensive environmental safety & health programs on premises or at project site locations

+ Maintain safety related paperwork including OSHA 300 logs

+ Maintain safety training certifications including OSHA OTI

+ Maintain DOT compliance for fleet drivers

+ Maintain data points within Enterprise's website to ensure drivers, vehicle numbers, garage and insurance are current

+ Work with senior management to create an Emergency Action Plan

+ Work with BDU to create safety training and videos

+ Serve as primary contact for project site or vehicle injury, incident notification, investigation and insurance case management. Maintain a written log of safety inspection activities, reports, and correspondence

+ Maintain fleet insurance cards for all locations

+ Procure vehicle inspections from managers in a timely and efficient manner

+ Coordinate vehicle recalls with fleet drivers and managers

+ Track incident metrics via dashboards and apply findings

+ Calculate Annual Fringe Benefits related to personal usage of the fleet and report to payroll at year end

+ Participate in the fleet onboarding process to ensure employees understand expectations while operating a fleet vehicle

+ Represent the company in meetings with government bodies and other organizations on issues regarding workplace health and safety

+ Train company employees on safe work and driving practices.

+ Deliver Corrective Action plans with employees and subcontractors who fail to comply with minimum safety standards

**Skills & Competencies:**

+ Good communications skills the ability to communicate effectively both in the written and spoken word.

+ Ability to listen the ability to listen well and take in feedback from the employee perspective without passing judgment.

+ Ability to handle competing priorities

+ Knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations pertaining to the specific trade or activity being managed.

+ Good recordkeeping abilities the Construction Safety Manager must be able to maintain good records of all safety related activities.

+ Ability to access heights via ladders or scaffolding. A significant amount of construction work takes place at heights above ground level which require the Construction Safety Manager to be able to access the work to evaluate it.

**Requirements:**

+ Minimum 2 years of safety management experience

+ Bachelor's degree in Safety, Health, Engineering or related discipline preferred

+ Experience with Risk Assessment Management

+ OSHA 30- hour certification Construction Safety plus familiar with DOT regulations and driving safety

+ OSHA OTI Certification.

+ Current certifications in First Aid, CPR Trade specific safety certifications

+ Advanced knowledge of Microsoft and Google products

+ Leadership training and certifications or 3 years' experience in a leadership role

+ Ability to create materials and present at meetings

+ Ability to access heights via ladders or scaffolding

+ Team player, self-confident, motivated and independent
