It is how we connect and interact with our clients, business partners and fellow associates.Job SummaryThe primary duty of this position is the day-to-day execution of assigned suppliers within assigned tactical category spend outside of major & strategic categories as designated within department and assists with successful delivery of results on all other categories as assigned. This role will not only be leading a portfolio of initiatives to drive supplier programs but also ensuring income is recognized and received for the products and/or services of each supplier. Responsible for establishing and executing against a category plan that achieves growth targets as outlined by the organization. The role also requires working collaboratively across each function of the organization to ensure internal and external stakeholder business plans align with supplier capabilities both now and in the future. Responsibilities:Lead day-to-day tactics and operations of assigned categories to achieve intended business objectivesExecute category strategy in collaboration with your manager that offers targeted business objectives that deliver strong financial results, improvement opportunities and recommendationsReview and refine analyses, communicate sourcing trends and present results for assigned categories to stakeholders and other interested partiesCapture direct savings on assigned categories by building strategies which enable cost reduction while ensuring that user needs for the assigned categories are metMaintain expertise in the assigned categories through price benchmarking and relationships with suppliers and market expertsParticipate in vendor management activities with internal business teams, as needed; this may include following-up on performance against contract (compliance) and resolution of any constraints or issuesResponsible for mitigating price increase with suppliersDevelop business relationships with key internal stakeholders and external suppliers including routine enhancements to agreements, communication of demand/volume changes, updating contracts and sharing end-user feedbackResponsible for department/assigned category & supply base Accounts Receivables (ARs), on time payments, aging analysis, provide follow-up and action proposals to senior team for improvementsSuggest to manager and influence annual budgets for your categories with monthly tracking and forecastingWork cross-functionally to manage the implementation process for new contracts or program changesPerform other duties as assigned Qualifications:4+ years supplier management experienceBachelor's degree strongly recommended or equivalent work experienceExperience of broader aspects of supply chain, as well as providing evidence of a broader business perspective such as balancing cost, value, risk & opportunityAbility to extract insights from complex data sets using advanced excel skillsAdaptable to change and thrives in a dynamic environmentHigh attention to detail and exceptional work qualityStrong networking skills, ability to influence and get things done through informal as well as formal channelsEvidence of an ability to work cross-functionally and influence at senior levelsGood knowledge of budgets and forecastingStrong negotiation experienceOutstanding presentation skillsHigh proficiency level with MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint requiredTravel rarely required, but could be up to 5% annuallyApply to Foodbuy todayFoodbuy is a member of Compass Group USAClick here to Learn More about the Compass StoryCompass Group is an equal opportunity employer.
