Job Summary

• The CT Technologist performs diagnostic CT procedures by department protocols and standards.
• They ensure the safety and comfort of patients while producing high-quality images for interpretation by radiologists or other healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

• Operate CT equipment to obtain diagnostic images following established protocols.
• Position patients on the CT table correctly and provide clear instructions to obtain the desired images.
• Monitor patients for any adverse reactions during the procedure and respond appropriately.
• Maintain accurate patient records, including imaging protocols, patient history, and any contrast media administered.
• Ensure proper operation and maintenance of CT equipment, including regular quality control checks and troubleshooting of any issues.
• Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure accurate interpretation of images.
• Follow safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure to patients, staff, and self.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding the CT procedure and any necessary preparations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including disinfection of equipment and examination rooms.
• Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with advances in CT technology and procedures.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in radiologic technology or a related field.
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in CT.
