A leading growing global mid-sized company that markets highly accurate diagnostics reagents and instrument systems solutions aimed at the infectious diseases, women's health and enteric diseases diagnostic testing is looking for a Senior Project Manager for its San Diego, CA location. The firm sells into the POC and Core Lab areas of hospital, commercial and physician’s office laboratories. Knowledge & Skills

Key Duties, Activities and Responsibilities:

The Senior Project Manager will manage and oversees all aspects of a project to ensure it is completed on-time and within budget. Has overall responsibility for managing scope, cost, schedule, cross-functional teams, outside vendors, and contractual deliverables. Prepares reports for upper management regarding status of project.

• Ensure projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget • Facilitate defining project scope and objectives with all relevant stakeholders while ensuring technical/commercial feasibility • Verify resource availability and allocation • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress, manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques • Responsible for evaluating unexpected deviations that may impact project deliverables or timelines and taking steps to resolve these issues, including escalating to management, as needed • Perform /support risk management to minimize project risks • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors and coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the execution of projects • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation • Demonstrate commitment to the development, implementation and effectiveness of the company’s Quality Management System per ISO, FDA, and other regulatory agencies • Understand and is aware of the quality consequences which may occur from the improper performance of their specific job • Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practices • Carry out duties in compliance with established business policies • Additional duties, as assigned

Work Experience, Skills and Education Required:

Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Typically requires a university degree and a minimum of 8 years of related experience. At this level, post-graduate coursework may be desirable. Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires and in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise. Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (Team Lead)

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline preferred • Experience in a diagnostics or pharmaceutical business a plus • Must have relevant IVD experience • Expert planning and tracking skills, capable of managing multiple projects, well organized, excellent time management with respect to priorities and self-management • Project Management and negotiation skills • Good understanding of basic science with working experience in Medical Devices/Diagnostics, Biotech, Pharmaceutical, or related environment • Excellent problem solving skills; able to work effectively in a dynamic and complex environment across multiple functional groups • Ability to maintain project timelines and develop alternative scenarios • Team player with ability to build collaborative relationships and positively influence team members in a cross-cultural environment • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and presentation skills • Strong leadership skills, with ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively in a dynamic environment • Willingness to travel • Experience with Microsoft Office suite such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint • Experience with Project Mgt software such as Microsoft Project or SmartSheets • Experience with Japanese culture is desirable • PMP certification is a plus
