The successful candidate will join our expanding team ofClinical Transfusion Medicine (TM) physicians who oversee blood bank andapheresis coverage at our partner hospitals. Clinical responsibilitiesinclude transfusion medicine consultations, oversight of QC/QAactivities, medical oversight of plasma exchange, red cell exchange,photopheresis, LDL apheresis and cellular collections. Teachingopportunities of medical students, residents, fellows, and SBB studentsare numerous and encouraged as well as opportunities for clinicalresearch. Versiti is an affiliation of blood centers in Wisconsin,Indiana, Illinois, Michigan and Ohio, including the Versiti BloodResearch Institute which is in the Milwaukee area. The latter is thelargest blood focused research institute in the United States whichhouses over 30 basic, translational, and clinical researchers. Theannual number of blood donors across Versiti is more than 500,000.Responsibilities for this position: As part of the Versiti WisconsinClinical TM Team, this physician will support and assist in medicalleadership and direction of the Transfusion Service at our partnerhospitals in the Milwaukee area. This physician will provide patientcare for therapeutic apheresis and cell therapy collections, consultwith physicians concerning TM practice and problems, promote bloodmanagement and quality improvement projects. Qualifications RequiredExperience: M.D. or D.O.
