Payroll Coordinator - Canada Payroll (remote U.S.) at Wolters Kluwer in Boise, Idaho, United States Job Description LOCATION : Remote U.S. (home-based) OVERVIEW You should be familiar with rules and regulations covering pay within Canada and the United States including federal, province, state, territory, and local tax. You will prepare reports illustrating payroll expenditures including such items as earnings, deductions, and taxes. You will prepare schedules and chargebacks for payroll services. You will use analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills to support small projects for the team. You will be responsible for output (documents, analysis, audit) in specific work area to appropriate time and quality targets. RESPONSIBLITIES + Prepares, documents, and disburses employee payments, payroll taxes, and employee benefit payments for approximately 9,000 FTEs with a total Payroll value of $1.5B. + Maintains multiple general ledger payroll maps, provides assistance to Finance to interpret, reconcile, and adjust journals entries. + Assists with continuous audits associated with the maintenance of payroll records and the preparation and distribution of related reports for Payroll Services, Americas Region. + Provides scheduled reports of averages and recoveries. + Answers inquiries and provides required data to internal and external auditors as needed. + Works with Internal Controls to ensure that all payroll-related corporate-governance rules are implemented and maintained. + Responsible for a variety of tasks associated with supporting employees. You will work closely with employee and internal resources to ensure our services meet their needs. + Brings identified problems and recommended solutions to the attention of management. QUALIFICATIONS Education: bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Experience: + 5+ years of Canadian payroll + 5+ years of U.S. payroll + Experience with payroll software implementations Preferred Skills + CPP or PCP certification + English language written and verbal fluency required, (French and Spanish fluency a plus) + Celergo and GlobalView experience preferred. + Fully conversant with rules and regulations regarding employee privacy and organizational confidentiality. + Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. General ledger and payroll reporting tools a plus.
