The nurse will collaborate with parents, guardians, administration team, and Director Developmental Disability Services to provide the optimum environment for all guests of Casey's Place. The part-time position is scheduled in a manner to best meet the medical needs of the program.Responsibilities:Help oversee primary health care for individuals in the programSemi-annual/annual updating and revising medication orders and other medical information (i.e. diagnosis information sheets, PONS (plan of nursing care), medical consent forms, etc.)Attend monthly staff meetingsOn-call for rotating weeksProvide emergency assistance when on-callMaintain a current and ongoing knowledge of pediatric health issues and practices through medical literature, in-services, workshops, etc.Provide training for Direct Support Professionals, as neededDevelop and maintain collaborative and resourceful internal and external communicationsOther duties as assignedQualificationsRegistered Nurse (New York State license/ registration)Have malpractice insuranceHave a Provider ID and NPI for EmednyValid NYS Driver's LicenseEssential Job Qualifications:Ability to lift 25 pounds with or without assistanceAbility to sit, squat, crouch and stand for elongated periods of timeAbility to lift arms over head in upward reaching motion
