Arms Acres in Bronx, NY is currently seeking a Registered Nurse to join our outpatient facility. The RN will focus on patient care by developing adequate means and methods to facilitate implementation of patient care policies and procedures. The RN in this role will demonstrate knowledge and competency in the performance of waive testing through training, updated knowledge of the manufacturers' manuals and annual observation of routine work by the supervisor or a delegate.RequirementsESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Initiates nursing process utilizing the nursing assessment tool on an ongoing basis, by planning coordinating, implementing and evaluating nursing care based on clinical knowledge, patient's needs and a collection of dataDevelops and updates treatment plans to address nursing diagnosis and reviews with the multidisciplinary team to provide input for diagnosis, length of stay and readiness for the next level of careImplements detoxification procedure and delivers appropriate patient care according to withdrawal scale and physicians ordersRetrieves orders and administers correct medications per physician's orders and facilitates procedure and policyMaintains update knowledge of withdrawal medications and modalities used in addiction treatmentsRecords and reports to appropriate care providers any information that may impact the patient's treatment and/or continuing care and completes medical discharge formInitiates consult(s) (psych, nutritional) when appropriate. Assesses patient for readiness for transfer to next level of careTriage to minor injuries and illnesses of patients in coordination with the medical staff and RN Charge NurseAssumes responsibility for growth and accountability through in-service programs and staff meetingsAssists in orientation for new employees and/or serves as preceptorReports for duty as scheduled and is capable of taking charge after completing charge orientationAll information maintained accurately and in compliance in electronic chartInitiate and monitor intravenous care as regulatory requirements permitParticipates in Performance Improvement InitiativesQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:Current valid RN license to practice in the State of New YorkGraduate of an accredited school of nursingSignificant knowledge and experience of alcoholism and chemical addiction preferredMental health experience preferredBilingual preferredWe offer competitive wages and benefits in a supportive working environment.
