We are seeking qualified, like-minded applicants to join our team!The Ultrasound Technologist Provides ultrasound services to the patient(s) consistent with education and training, and in accordance with Galen Medical Group site policies and procedures.Work Schedule: Will be 2 days per week, days to be determinedDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Explains procedures to patient to obtain cooperation and reduce anxieties of patient.2. Performs ultrasonic diagnostic procedures as directed by physicians.3. Schedules patients and explains procedures to assure cooperation and optimum test results.4. Positions patients. Selects appropriate transducer.5. Conducts scanning procedures using ultrasound equipment. Moves scanner over specified body area, and adjusts equipment to focus.6. Makes hard copy images. Documents tests.7. Maintains ultrasound equipment. Orders and stocks all ultrasound supplies.8. Reviews test results with interpreting physician.9. Calibrates appropriate equipment, as necessary.10. Participates in clinical educational programs as necessary for job duties.11. Performs all duties in compliance with Galen clinical policies and OSHA standards.12. Maintain professional communication skills between employee, patient, physicians and other facilities.13. Make recommendations for any improvements in operation of the ultrasound system.14. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.15. Assist other personnel in the performance of their duties as assigned and as workload permits.16. Function as relief for other personnel in the office as appropriate and to facilitate co-workers absence in the office.17. Recognize and demonstrate cost-effective measures in utilization of supplies, equipment and other resources.18. Maintain strictest confidentiality of all company records, including verbal and written records.19. Individual must have previous experience in related field and job duties.3. Individual must have Certification and/or License as Ultrasound Technologist4. Must be computer literate.Experience:1-3 years of prior experience in the OB/GYN clinical setting.Skills/Certifications:Individual must have previous experience in a related field and job duties.Certification and/or License as Ultrasound Technologist required.Individuals must be CPR trained and certified at all times.Must be PC literate with strong computer navigational skills, as well as extensive knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office.Exceptional skills of independence, organization, verbal and written communication, problem-solving, professional interaction, and human relation skills, as well as analytical skills and problem-solving ability.As part of the Galen Medical Group, the applicant must be a team player and provide excellent customer service while assessing our patients needs efficiently.
