POSITION OBJECTIVE

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join the civil division at Timberline

Construction. The ideal Project Manager candidate will be an entrepreneurial construction

professional looking to join a close knit, hard working and growing team in Birmingham,

AL. In this role you will collaborate directly with the Timberline Construction executive

team, estimators and field operations teams to ensure the smooth and timely execution of

highly complex and detailed construction projects. Your responsibilities will include

ensuring that the project is completed on schedule, meet the client's requirements and

overseeing the project from start to finish.

POSITION KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Collaborate with Division Management during the Construction Phase on all projects.
•Read and Interpret Construction Plans and Specifications.
•Mentor team members on the daily duties required to effectively manage the

project.
•Oversight of the creation and monitoring of Project Schedules and production of

progress updates.
•Be capable of managing financial and technical aspects of projects.
•Identify constructability issues through the estimating process.
•Work with your team's existing Owners, Architects, Engineers, and Subcontractors to

establish long-term relationships to identify and obtain future project opportunities.
•Meet with the Pre-Construction team at project kick-off and build the job schedule

and cost forecast.
•Obtain project material submittals from subcontractors and vendors to prepare

submittal packages.
•Assist leadership with developing a plan to construct each project from start to finish.
•The project manager will need to communicate the plan to internal resource groups

and trade partners so the necessary resources and materials can be scheduled

accordingly.
•Weekly field visits to job sites that may require occasional overnight travel.
•Meet with project superintendents, internal resource groups, and trade partners

on-site weekly to ensure each project is progressing based on milestones and plans.
•Communicate professionally with everyone on site, including but not limited to

supervisors, teammates, contractors, clients and vendor partners.
•Update project schedules weekly and communicate frequently with the client.
•Guide the research and recommendation of resolutions to drawing interpretation

problems, conflicts and errors.
•Assist the team with Submittals, RFI's, Change Order Proposals, Owner Billings,

Subcontractor/Vendor Billings, Monthly Reports, etc.
•Overall support to the field and executive teams as needed.
•Evaluate and analyze project needs to determine effective and efficient solutions that

keep projects on budget and on schedule.
•Oversee several projects at one time; tracking the schedule, measuring progress and

tracking the budget.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED
•Bachelor's Degree preferred.
•3-5 years of experience in Construction Project Management working with a Civil

Contractor or General Contractor.
•Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills with crews and customers.
•Proficient in Construction Project Management software.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
•Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively and decisively make

decisions.
