West Valley Arts Concessions Attendant

Parks and Recreation Job Type Part-time Description This is a part time position that requires a flexible work schedule that includes nights, weekends, holidays, and special events, as start and stop times may vary from week to week depending on what events have been scheduled. The ideal candidate will be experienced in foodservice, customer service and familiar with theatre operations. The concessions attendant is responsible for maintaining operations and assisting customers at the West Valley Performing Arts Center and Utah Cultural Celebration Center concessions stands in West Valley City. The position is responsible for ensuring the highest level of guest experience.

**Schedule:** Part-Time, less than 30 hours per week

**Starting Pay:** $11.00 per hour

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

* Ability to provide excellent guest service while working in a very fast-paced environment.

* Serve food, beverages, or desserts to customers in a very fast-paced environment.

* Proper cash handling including, greet and service guests at the registers, taking orders, and accepting payments, handling cash, debit and credit cards.

* Replenish food and beverages at serving stations.

* Prepare food such as popcorn, hot dogs, ice cream dishes, and fountain sodas, using standard formulas or following directions.

* Prepare bills for food, using cash registers, calculators, or adding machines; and accept payment and make change.

* Sanitize and polish counters, ice machines, merchandisers, ice bins, sinks, steam tables, and other equipment, and clean dishes and fountain equipment.

* Inventory control: Assess inventory and assist in preparing product orders as necessary.

* Stock and restock items as necessary.

* Ensure all sanitation procedures are followed relating to all local licensing regulations.

* Restock disposables.

* Report damages to Operations Supervisor.

* Secure facilities after operating hours by locking doors, closing windows, and setting alarms.

* Assist the Front of House Manager and Theatre Productions Manager with ushering, greeting & assisting guests, and assisting artists, cast, and crew as needed.

* Undertake occasional tasks including, but not limited to lifting heavy items, moving chairs and tables, cleaning, and assembling equipment.

* Other duties as assigned.

**Education and/or Experience**

* Must be 16 years of age or older.

* Prior concessions and/or restaurant/bar experience preferred, including POS systems.

* High school diploma, GED, or enrolled in a high school program required.

* Must obtain and maintain a food-handlers license.

* Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) for cash handling and change making.

**Language Skills**

* Must be able to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.

* Be able to follow both written and oral instruction
