Production Planner - Military veterans preferred

The role of Production Planner is critically important to the successful operation of an organization by meeting increasing efficiency, decreasing waste, lowering costs, and scheduling production to meet customer requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Create procurement and production schedules for area of responsibilityGenerate and monitor production plans, prioritizing work ordersMonitor inventory levels of inputs with internal and external suppliersMonitor movement of materials through storage and productionMaintains a rhythm to ensure work centers are running smoothlyCollaborates with supply planner on scheduleResolve issues/opportunities and escalate when neededAttend operational meetings as neededSet preferred stock levels and prevent excess inventory within the plantReview plant supplies to ensure quality, monitor stock levels and maintain accessibility to informationBuild relationships with transportation, warehouse supervisors, and co-workers to achieve higher performanceMake recommendations on flow considerationsPrepare detailed reports relating to MRP, back orders, and schedulesEngage in continuous improvement as it relates to processes and material availabilityGenerate and manage purchase orders to suppliersEducation and ExperienceFour (4) years of combined experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Operations in a private, public, government or military environmentExperience working with MS Office with demonstrated skill in utilizing Excel SpreadsheetsUnderstanding of Manufacturing ProcessStrong analytical and problem-solving skills (able to perform data analysis with mass data sets)Strong communication, interpersonal, and self-motivational skillsStrong organizational and time management skillsWHO IS NEOGEN:From farm to fork, we offer solutions to enhance the quality, quantity and safety of the global food supply.
