Job Summary: This position coordinates all functions of on the job training for drivers. Ensures that all drivers will leave the OJT center with a positive outlook on the company. Also ensure all drivers have received the proper training to do their job with success. This position requires a self-motivated and detail oriented individual. This person will have daily contact with new terminal drivers. The candidate will have to be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers both written and verbal. They will also provide visibility to management in regards to process oversight, issues, successes, and data. This candidate will be required to be on call at times. Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes Travel: Some travel required Some weekend work will be required Duties/Responsibilities: Hands-on OJT training that includes all physical functions of driver training. Classroom OJT training that includes all driver operation field training Equipment training with drivers Complete OJT training paperwork and compliance. Daily terminal communication and feedback about drivers through the OJT tracker that is sent daily to the terminals. Required Skills/Abilities/Experience: Some chemical bulk transportation industry experience Good communication and people skills Knowledge of DOT requirements Experience with safety procedures Working knowledge of computer and software such as Word, Excel and Google products Able to use technology such as computers, laptops and handheld devices to access company and vendor provided systems Must have CDL Class A Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent, required Working knowledge of hazmat Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee will regularly and repetitively be required to talk, hear, sit, type, reach and grasp in a typical office environment. This position will require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping or crouching, and climbing a ladder. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move items over 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
