Aspirus is looking for a Director - System Nursing Education and Professional Development to join our team in Wausau, WI!

Description: The Director System Nursing Education and Professional Development is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating all nursing education programs, nursing competency programs, and relationships with affiliated schools of nursing on behalf of Aspirus Health. The Director System Nursing Education and Professional Development integrates all nursing education and development for the organization and ensures the delivery of optimal education and development programs across all areas of nursing (acute, ambulatory, home health, and hospice) to achieve optimal outcomes. The Director System Nursing Education and Professional Development creates the environment where the organization nurses support academic practicum experiences and serve as preceptors, instructors, adjunct faculty, or faculty. The Director System Nursing Education and Professional Development plays a key role in nursing engagement strategies including Pathways to Excellence. The Director System Nursing Education and Professional Development is responsible for creating a system wide evidence-based patient education experience that reflects health literacy literature and evidence-based practice.

Hours: Full-Time, 1.0 FTE.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required in nursing.
  • Master's degree in nursing or related field required.
  • Doctor of Nursing Practice or Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing highly preferred.
  • Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse or Multi-State Registered Nurse license.
  • Minimum of five years' direct clinical care experience.
  • Minimum of three years' experience as an educator.
  • Minimum of three years' progressive leadership experience in education in an integrated healthcare system.

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is the flagship of the Aspirus system that serves patients in 14 counties across northern and central Wisconsin, as well as the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
