Overview:

PROJECT MANAGER (LEAD 2024-):

Bowhead seeks an experienced Project Manager to organize and coordinate the program at Letterkenny Army Depot (LEAD) located in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. You will provide strategic guidance to teams and project managers in ways that promote the companys culture. You will also oversee the progress of operations. The ideal candidate will be an excellent leader and will have experience in managing staff of different disciplines to produce results in a timely manner. They will also be able to develop efficient strategies and tactics.

The Project Manager is responsible for day-to-day program management and leadership of program operations by developing management procedures and controlling, planning, and directing project execution; monitoring and reporting progress; managing program/project resources; and managing and controlling financial and administrative aspects of the program/project with respect to contract requirements.

LEAD is home to PATRIOT maintenance as well as other missile systems such as Avenger, Tube-launched Optically-tracked Wire-guided missile TOW, Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) Advanced Fire Control System (AFCS), Hellfire and Javelin. LEAD provides overhaul and repair of power generation equipment and provides mobile repair teams for on-site maintenance assistance, LEAD also provides, repair and modifications for Ground Mobility Vehicles, specialized Special Operations vehicles, tactical wheeled vehicles, Biological Integrated Detection Systems, Material Handling Equipment, Force Provider, Mobile Kitchens, Containerized Chapels, and various Soldier Support System.

Responsibilities:

Essential functions will include:

  • Explains policies, purpose, and goals of the contractor's organization to subordinates.
  • Formulates and reviews strategic plans and deliverable items, determines contract costs and ensures conformance with standards.
  • Actively assures the implementation and compliance of the Quality Assurance Plan.
  • Engages in regular face-to-face meetings with the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) and provide required reports and documentation to the COR in a timely manner.
  • Lead and evaluate project managers and other staff.
  • Develop and control deadlines, budgets and activities.
  • Apply change, risk and resource management.
  • Assess program performance and aim to maximize ROI.
  • Resolve projects higher scope issues.
  • Prepare reports for Senior Program Manager and Directors,
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree (preferred) and a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, experience and certifications.
  • Experience in validating technical and financial reports, analyzing metrics and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Previous experience overseeing numerous tasks by multiple logistic managers.
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem solving skills and good judgment.
  • Experience working with a union is a plus.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level. However candidates with an active Secret are highly encouraged to apply. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
