Position Summary:

Responsible and accountable for coordinating and supervising the nursing care provided to patients having operative or other invasive procedures. The nurse manager will provide functional direction to members of the perioperative team to achieve optimal patient outcomes while optimizing available resources including surgical case management and perioperative patient care coordination. Will serve as a clinical resource to the nursing staff; appropriately and accurately communicate and share information; effectively establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with team members; manage specialty area frustrations and challenges in a constructive and positive manner and assist others to work effectively under stress. The nurse manager must use appropriate channels of communication; facilitate the orientation/cross-training of students/staff to specialty area. The nurse manager will support the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited program of Registered Nursing.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree preferred.
  • One to two years' previous management experience is preferred with three years clinical experience in one or more specialty area(s).
  • Two to three years in-depth knowledge and skill related to surgical patients, population, supplies, documentation, equipment, and patient care requirements, etc.) strongly preferred.
  • Current Active RN Licensure

  • ACLS/PALS/BLS required
  • Iowa Mandatory Reporter - Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Certificates
