About the Role
The Company is seeking a Corporate Counsel with a strong background in commercial and corporate law to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation, negotiation, and control of most corporate contracts, as well as providing support in compliance matters and the company's mergers and acquisitions activities. This role requires the ability to prepare and review contracts across various legal areas, including commercial, real estate, compliance, licensing, and employment. The Corporate Counsel will also offer corporate governance advice, assist in acquisition due diligence, and ensure the legal department is effective in supporting the company's business strategy and protecting against legal risks.Applicants must be graduates of an accredited law school, admitted to the New York state bar, and have 5 - 10 years' of experience in a corporate or law firm setting, with in-house experience being a plus. The ideal candidate will have a good business sense, a sense of urgency, honesty, and fairness, and be able to respond effectively to a wide range of transactional inquiries. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential, and fluency in a second language, particularly Spanish or Mandarin, is advantageous. The role demands a self-starter who can enhance the legal department through participation in staff meetings, training, and positive interaction with both internal and external clients.
