WAI27716 Te Wharu Ora - Waikato District ICU/HDU Senior House Officer Applications are invited for the 2025 year The Critical Care unit offers clinical attachments for senior house officers (SHO) each year and is looking to recruit to four positions every six months. The primary area of work will assist with the model of care for the unit caring for the patients with high dependencies. You would be responsible to the admitting primary team consultant for the supervision of admissions and discharges, investigatory procedures, changes in treatment and all similar matters. Our HDU currently operates under an open HDU model. However, from April 2025 the HDU will be closed and incorporated within the Critical Care in a pod model. You will be a part of the Intensive care team, working with support from senior ICU staff. In addition to working in the Critical Care you will also be allocated occasional Anaesthetic days for further critical care and airway experience.
